Pipi house

Project team Peg and Ray Architects Construction 17 months Project cost $5 mil

A discreet façade is presented to the street, but upon entering, the house opens to reveal a north facing internal courtyard and open pavilion, carving out a tranquil oasis of home living on a busy suburban street.

A complete knock-down and rebuild of a two-storey, split level house done under the state driven Complying Development legislative framework. This project explores how the ‘project home’ development type could be adapted to service a more up market design quality and aesthetic, catering to the inner ring suburbs of Sydney.

The ground floor finish is honed concrete with underfloor hydronic heating. Externally, a warm toned brick base compliments the bronze anodised batten cladding and a muted colour palette is used throughout the interiors, highlighted with pops of colour. All internal finishes, joinery, bathrooms, lighting layouts were included in the bespoke design package.
